Description

This eye brooch transforms any outfit into an eye-catcher. The brooch is accompanied by a beautiful gift box.

Strong images from both high and popular culture play an important role in the design of the brooches. By simplifying and abstracting shapes, a powerful and iconic image is created. The use of color and geometric compositions fit in with the tradition of Dutch design.

The enamelled brooches are engraved and each has its own number. This makes the brooch a unique collector’s item. The brooches have a pin closure.

Old Masters and new Dutch Design

For Masterly The Hague, festival of old master painting & dutch design, Michael Barnaart is inspired by the paintings of the Cornelis Kruseman Foundation. Cornelis Kruseman (1797-1857) was a Dutch painter.

The expressive eyes and mouths of the people portrayed are striking elements in Kruseman’s work. These come back in the form of enamelled brooches in numbered edition.
