Emma – flared dress

Description

Emma is a charming jersey bell dress with a pretty stand-up collar and a ‘moving’ pied-de-poule design on the skirt. Pied-de-poule (also known as houndstooth) is an ancient archetypal textile pattern. I distorted the design, as an ode to Escher’s revolutionary tessellations and optical illusions, making the design appear to move. Hence: ‘pied de mouvement’.

The bodice is thinly knitted, making it ideal for wearing all year round. The skirt is double knitted and flares out. The sash is included. The dress can easily be put on over the head, without closure.
