The world’s most famous rabbit now also has an iconic design by Michael Barnaart in her wardrobe. As an enamel brooch, Miffy wears the Mondrian dress. <\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2018Those stripes are very pretty \/ I like this painting too \/ but should I look this way or that? \/ I’m not sure what to do!,\u2019 Miffy once said. She is a fan of Piet Mondriaan\u2019s work. Just like Michael Barnaart, who in turn is a fan of Dick Bruna\u2019s most famous creation. With a brooch of Miffy in her famous Mondrian dress, the fashion designer brings about a logical but unique encounter between two of the most influential artists in the modern Dutch design tradition. <\/p>\n

\u201cDick Bruna\u2019s work is one of my earliest childhood memories; Miffy hung above my bed as a poster,\u201d says Barnaart. \u201cThe apparent simplicity, strong lines and striking colours are important sources of inspiration for my designs. I later encountered those same elements in Mondrian\u2019s work.\u201d When his Mondrian dress took the world by storm at international exhibitions in 2011, the designer wrote a letter to Bruna to thank him for his inspiration. \u2018His handwritten response hangs in my tower room,\u2019 he beams. \u2018Since then, a collaboration with Miffy has been high on my wish list. When the Mondrian dress celebrated its tenth anniversary, the time was right.\u2019<\/a> <\/p>\n

The enamelled brooch with magnetic closure is available in various (museum) shops and in \u201cDe winkel van nijntje\u201d (Miffy’s shop) in Amsterdam. This collector’s item comes with a beautiful storage box. <\/p>\n
