Exactly 350 years ago, Stadholder William III appointed the first gardener of Orange at Soestdijk Palace: Christiaen Jansz van Staden. In honour of this anniversary, the month of June is dedicated to “Soestdijk in bloei” (Soestdijk in Bloom), an ode to centuries of royal garden architecture. Michael Barnaart created the illustrations for the children’s treasure hunt, which will soon be on display throughout the palace garden!<\/p>\n
