The uniforms for the operators of The Flying Dutchman, Madurodam’s newest attraction, was designed by the Dutch fashion designer Michael Barnaart.

After a construction process of more than 1.5 years, the cabin crew opened the door of the silver-gray KLM DC-3 that shines at ‘Schiphol Airport’ for the first time this month. The Barnaart collection consists of an extensive wardrobe for women and men that is suitable for different weather types.

Barnaart studied the first aviation uniforms from the 1950s for his designs. He says: “Fashion is important to show a time picture or tell a story. “I want to take the futuristic feeling from that time into the present, which is why my uniforms are a contemporary translation of the uniforms from the 50s.”
